These tutorials will help you familiarize yourself with the HVC Color Composer,
improve your color selection skills, and profoundly deepen your understanding
of the way color works.
We've used a series of paintings to make Photoshop templates for
you to color along with the instructional guides. The paintings were done
by early 20th century French masters Henri Matisse and Pierre Bonnard.
The first group focuses on the challenges of color in graphic design, with bold,
solid shapes to color. These utilize some of Matisse's famous "cutout" paintings,
which conveniently illustrate those challenges. The second group focuses on
challenges in illustration and painting, where color relationships and the
contrasts created are more subtle.
It is strongly recommended that you go through them in order, since the
basic ideas are all established in the early tutorials.
